| Everyone
knows about outsourced transcription, and
sending your tapes by mail to a typist (with
the risk of the tape being lost), or even
delivering your tapes personally (with all
the waste of time it incurs) are forms of
outsourced typing, although well antiquated.
We at NIVOTEC refer to outsourced
transcription as the digital version
of the above: sound file are sent electronically
to a typist or pool of typists. This can
be achieved by way of emails,
VPN, FTP sites, web based dictation/transcription,
or bespoke applications “grabbing”
your dictation automatically.
Dictations are then transcribed and returned
to you through the same medium, within a
predefined period. The service is usually
charged on a per document, per
page, per line or per minute basis.
